Fingerpicking a Blues in G on a Cigar Box Guitar

Fingerpicking a Blues in G on a Cigar Box Guitar

Here is a fun little picking style to liven up a 12 Bar Blues on a cigar box guitar.

Use your thumb to pick the bass string and the first and second fingers to pick the next two strings together. The pattern is "Bass, Pick, Tap, Bass, Pick, Tap. Bring your thumb and two fingers back down onto the strings to create the Tap sound.

Here is a TAB Sheet you can download to follow along with.

I have shown two versions depending if you have a three string or four string cigar box guitar.

Watch the video lesson to work on the timing. Sometimes it easier to follow an example rather than count it out. Finally slide up the bass string as you change chords. It sounds very cool!
