Tuning A Cigar Box Guitar

When getting started on cigar box guitar, its important to learn how to properly tune the instrument. If the guitar is not in tune then nothing you play will sound quite right, and there are many variables that can affect the tone of the instrument, and the tuning process itself.

The cigar box guitar is traditionally made out of the materials people had on hand, so if the tuning pegs are quite cheap they can struggle to fine-tune the instrument. Even the environment the guitar is stored in can cause changes to the timber. This is why it’s important to tune your instrument every time you pick it up.
